Product Warranty

Nordica UK Ltd grants, on the conditions and pursuant to the procedure provided in this warranty for preservative treated wooden and aluminium-clad wooden windows and external doors (hereinafter: Products) The warranty term begins as of the delivery of the Products on the basis of the sales contract to the purchaser (hereinafter: recipient of the Warranty) or from the moment the Products are deemed to be delivered to the recipient of the Warranty in the cases specified in the sales contract unless the warranty conditions provide for otherwise. If the Product is delivered or is deemed to be delivered before the payment of the full purchase price of the Product, the warranty takes effect upon the payment of full purchase price of the Product to Nordica UK Ltd and the warranty takes then effect retroactively (ex tunc): the warranty period is deemed to have commenced as of the delivery of the Product.

  • Durability of wood used in the Product - 10 Years;
  • Impermeability of glass sealed unit -10 Years;

  • A finishing defect is not understood as being bleaching of the colour shade of the Product or any other change as a result of weather or any other influence. Neither is a defect understood as being the appearance of the contours of glue joints, repair plugs and finger tenons, resulting from a change in moisture and/or temperature regimes, contours of knots, grain, lines of glue joint, joints of aluminium coatings, etc under the paint layer of the Product insofar as the finishing layer has not been damaged (cracked, detached, etc);
  • Maintenance work must have been done regularly, and in accordance with the operating and maintenance manual. We recommend making a written report of the performed work, and keeping the report as an annex to the operating and maintenance manual;

Warranty restrictions

The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear of the Products, and any resultant defects. Natural fade means the look of the product, which may change in time. For example a door threshold and movable parts may fade but these changes do not affect functionality and general look of product.

The warranty is not applicable in the following events:

  • The full purchase price of the Product has not been paid to Nordica UK Ltd.
  • The Product or its part has been damaged or broken after delivery to the client because of mechanical damage arisen during offloading, installation or use.
  • The recipient of the Warranty or any third person has not complied with the installation manual of the Product and/or its operating and maintenance manual.
  • The Product has been damaged either intentionally or through negligence.
  • The recipient of the Warranty has delayed in notifying Nordica UK Ltd of the defects of the Product, and such delay has resulted in the occurrence of more extensive defects of the Product and the costs for compensation thereof are unreasonable compared to the costs which would have been incurred in the case of notification of the defects in the Product in a timely manner.

Notification of defects

Upon occurrence of defects in the Product during the warranty period, the recipient of the Warranty must notify Nordica UK Ltd in writing within 14 days as detailed as possible specification of the defect. If possible the recipient of the Warranty should include a photo with the description of the defect. In addition to the above, the notification must include the following information:

  • Order number and date of the order;
